Need some extra breathing room in your budget this month? Curis Financial’s Skip-a-Payment program gives you the flexibility to defer qualifying loan payments to handle unexpected expenses or free up extra cash when you need it most.
To take advantage of the program, simply submit your request through Curis Financial’s digital banking, either online or through the mobile app. A $25 fee will apply. Skipping a scheduled payment through this program will not hurt your credit score but will extend the life of the loan.
How it Works:
Sign into digital banking and choose Skip-a-Payment from the left-hand menu options. Any loans that meet eligibility requirements will be listed.
Check the box next to the loan you want to skip and choose which Curis account to debit the $25 fee.
Read and accept the Terms and Conditions.*
Payment due date will advance to the next calendar month.
Eligibility Requirements:
Loans are eligible for two (2) skip-a-pay requests in a rolling 12-month period (maximum of five (5) during the life of the loan.)
Lines of Credit, HELOC, Mortgage, Holiday, and ER loans are excluded.
The minimum scheduled loan payment amount is $50.
The loan must be open for at least three (3) months and have made two (2) prior payments.
Must be three (3) months or more since the last prior due date skipped.
NOTE: Loan is ineligible if more than 10 days past due or has had a past due payment over 10 days in the last three (3) months.

If your payment is made by transfer from another financial institution, you must request to stop the transfer at least three (3) business days before your next scheduled transfer date.
By using Skip-A-Pay, you are deferring your next regular loan payment(s). Your loan payment schedule will be extended beyond your original final payment date by one or more months.
In addition to the Skip-A-Pay fee, interest and other charges will continue to accrue on the outstanding balance of your loan during the extension period and over the remaining term of the loan until it is paid in full.
The remaining terms of your original loan contract remain in effect.
Your next monthly payment will be applied to finance charges, including the finance charge for the payment you skip, before being applied to your principal balance.
If you have any form of voluntary insurance or warranty coverage in connection with the loan on which you seek to skip a payment you should ensure your election to skip does not affect your coverage (examples include but are not limited to: Credit Life, Credit Disability, GAP, Vehicle Warranty in Connection with your loan – not manufacturer or other warranty). Some companies that provide these insurance or warranty services limit the number of extensions on covered loans which may include voluntary skip payments. Such products are provided by third party companies and not the Credit Union so you will need to address any questions to those companies and review your policies/contracts.
